Hi guys, new to the site, and it's great!!! Been doing a ton of reading, and have learned a lot already. I just picked up a 1980 CB 750K and have a basic
idea of how I want it to look when I'm done. I'm sure that between then and now I will have lot's of questions so sorry in advance if you get sick
of me. Here are some pics of the way it sits at the moment. I am going to try and keep track of what I do and post pics as I go.

Hi guys, sorry it's been so long since the original post...holidays and work trips got in the way. I've had a chance to finish tearing down and
cleaning up the frame. Through all that I figured out pretty much what I wanted to do and what the bike will look like at the end of all this. So far I have
put shorty shocks on, decided on a sportster tank (which I am in the process of modifying), making a seat pan, and going with broomstick bars. Here are a few
more pictures. The last one isn't a DOHC but it's going to be my next project...It's a 1947 and belonged to my Dad.

Thanks freebyrd, I have looked at your site, and lots of your posts many times getting ideas for this. I think I'm going to leave the rails and make a solo
seat pan, and rivet leather over it, then spring the seat. I am thinking about exhaust...I love the look of just going with the four seprate headers. Do think
I'll need to extend them a few feet or can i just leave them short? Does your jetting rule of 110's and 75's with 3 1/2 turns hold true for a 4
into 4 set up?
Sorry in advance...think I am getting into the "lot's of questions" part of the project. |

The 75/110 seems to work on a lot of exhaust setups, with some going to a 115 with a 4-1. Just remember that these bikes do need a little back pressure in the
exhaust. I myself, don't really care for the sound of the DOHC with drag-style pipes, but to each their own. As far as whether or not to add length: the
fun part about building a bike is the experimentation of it!

I've got 4 into 4 with really short pipes, I welded a washer with a 3/4 inch hole inside my tail pipes, worked great and I like the sound, not what people
expect when I start up da pig

Thanks guys, I love the way these bikes look with 4 into 4's. The washer trick for back pressure is perfect...I think I can afford that! You're right
freebyrd building a bike give you a lot to experiment with. Going to try modify the tank today, and come up with a way to mount it

Got the motor back in, and the carbs back on, and so far everything fits. Now begins the wiring...think I am going to go with the simple diagram that was
posted here, plus a horn, signals, and a lic. plate light...the law up hear don't seem to be as forgiving as some places.
